We were delighted to be able to offer our children a chance to learn about other cultures on our Diversity Day. The children enjoyed learning about Chinese dance, Polish paper crafts, African drumming and clothing, foods and language from Pakistan. Many thanks to Causeway Coast and Glens, Policing and Community Safety Small Grant scheme and Artseka that made this possible.
Thank you to everyone who made the effort to use an active travel method over this two week period. It was lovely to see so many chidlren doing this on our focus, ‘Dress Bright’ day.
Our Easter Assembly was held in Rasharkin Presbyterian Church hall. Thank you to all the parents and friends who took time to come along to the concert. We are grateful for the opportunity for our children to be able to perform for an audience.

Hana, Emma, Sam and James have all completed and passed Grade 2 violin and they performed two of their exam pieces.

Thanks to Rev Jeffrey Blue for his Easter message, which again reminded us of the Easter Bible story.
We would also like to thank the Committee of Rasharkin Presbyterian Church for the use of their halls for our Easter Assembly. Thanks also to the children in P3, 4 and 5 who drew pictures for the programme.
Dale Farm is inviting primary school pupils across Northern Ireland to take their legen-dairy SuperCow on a very ‘dairy’ adventures by creating unique comic book story that shows her using her superpowers to do good for others. P6/7 have been enjoying lessons from ‘Big House’ helping them take control of their emotional lives, and handle the stresses of life in healthy ways. The stories are illustrated with examples from the bible.
Many, many thanks to everyone who has filled bags for ‘Cash for Clobber’. We are delighted that we have so many bags ready for collection and then to receive a donation to school funds in lieu of (40p / kg).
The children all enjoyed listening to stories as part of celebrations for World Book Day and then used drama to share their interpretations.
We were delighted to be sharing in the joy of stories with children on World Book Day. Children came to school dressed up in some amazing costumes. We also enjoyed sharing these with playgroup and the story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’. Thanks to playgroup staff and children who were our ‘judges’ and to parents for all the hard work preparing costumes.
We were delighted to present reading awards for children who had worked hard on ReadingEggs / Eggspress and also on their Accelerated Reading. Awards were also given to chidlren who had 100% accuracy and the top five readers (percentage of targets) in each class. The AR cup was awarded to Joy. Well done everyone for your hard work.

P6/7 enjoyed being aerospace engineers for the day thanks to RAF and the Smallpiece Trust. The children worked to make a rocket that would travel the furthest. They tested the launch angle and the payload to find the best option for their rockets.
P4/5 have been working hard collecting pom poms in their classroom and mamaged to collect enough to earn their next treat on Friday 28th January. The class had decided that they would like to come to school in their pyjamas and bring a teddy with them for the day. Our school day was normal with our usual lessons with the exception of wearing their comfy pjs for the day!
Well done P4/5. Now to start collecting for your next class treat!
