Today panto came to school as we watched an online pantomime in our our classs bubbles (P3, P4/5 & P6/7). This was a live Youtube premiere provided by Southern Regional Collage (SRC) Performing Arts Department. The children all enjoyed the Christmas songs and the cheering along that comes part and parcel with a panto atmosphere.

We are trying to reach as many families as possible with this important information. So, if you know of any families with children who are eligible to enrol in primary in September 2022 please share this information with them if you can. In addition if you would like more detail on the processes involved please visit the Education Authority’s website.

Responsible Pupils

After registering for the ‘Adopt a Spot’ initiative we happily received some equipment to help keep our school tidy and litter free. Thanks to all the children in P4/5 who kindly volunteer to look after our school grounds.

Tables Improvement

Congratulation to all the children in P6/7 who have continued to work hard to improve their fast recall of their table facts.  These children all passed the target they set for themselves at the start of October.  Well done!

SU Club

P6/7 enjoyed Scripture Union club.  Mrs Bamford, Mrs Calderwood and Mrs Millar all kindly gave of their time to offer the children this wonderful opportunity.  This week they were thinking about Christmas and made these great Christingles, which I’m sure they will enjoy eating!

P6/7 Crocus Project

P6/7 enjoyed planting yellow crocus bulbs in the shape of a star as part of this project.  The crocus project reminds children of the dangers of racism and discrimination by looking at how the Jewish children had to wear a yellow star on their clothes during WWII.  We thought about how important it is to respect everyone regardless of whether they have the same religious beliefs as you or not.

High Five

It’s time for another edition of HIGH FIVE! The newsletter produced by Primary Behaviour Support and Provisions, packed full of good ideas to inspire, support and challenge all our young people to be the best they can be.

Our theme this week is to Be Aware of Others. It is so important to keep track of how we are doing and consider our feelings. It is important to think about the people around us as well, so that we can Take Notice of their wellbeing and Connect with those who need a little support!
