Take 5

Each year we ask our P6/7 to prepare a presentation to share with the whole school on ‘Take 5’. This helps us reminds ourselves how we can take care of our bodies and our minds. Chris Lindsay, EA, came to present our winning group, the ‘Take 5 ambassadors’ with their badges. Well done!

SHARED EDUCATION P1 AND P2

P1 and P2 have had their second morning of Shared Education with the children from St Patrick’s Primary School. The lessons which they are working on together are under the title ‘Growing Together’.

In small groups, they had a short ‘Getting to know you’ activity - their names, the things they liked or didnt like to do etc

They then heard the story ‘Tree’, which is a story about trees through the seasons.

The next activity was a scavanger hunt. The children had to find the letters of RASHARKIN which had been put up around the playground

At the end of their session, they had to evaluate their morning. All the children agreed that they had all enjoyed it a lot.

MARCONI'S MOYLE

P6/7 enjoyed and educational workshop on communication, celebrating Marconi’s work from over a hundred years.  Facilitators from W5 helped the children to explore the different ways of communicating, including string telephones, flag Semaphore and Morse code.  Marconi used his knowledge about the ‘spark gap’ to build a better spark machine for communication between Ballycastle and Rathlin Island. Many thanks to Causeway Coast and Glens for making this possible.
